Chandrayaan mission   The Indian Chandrayaan mission refers to the series of lunar exploration missions conducted by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), India's national space agency. The Chandrayaan program's primary objective is to explore the Moon, study its surface features, and gather scientific data. Chandrayaan-1 launched on October 22, 2008, was India's first mission to the Moon. The spacecraft was equipped with various scientific instruments, including a high-resolution remote sensing camera, a lunar laser-ranging instrument, and a mini synthetic aperture radar. It successfully entered the lunar orbit on November 8, 2008, and operated until August 2009. Chandrayaan-1's most significant achievement was the discovery of water molecules on the Moon's surface.
