  THE BALAKOT AIR STRIKE  The Balakot strike refers to a military operation conducted by the Indian Air Force on February 26, 2019. The operation targeted a terrorist training camp located in Balakot, Pakistan, which was believed to be operated by Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), a Pakistan-based terrorist group responsible for various attacks in India. The Balakot strike was carried out in response to a terrorist attack on February 14, 2019, in Pulwama, Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir, where a suicide bomber from JeM attacked a convoy of Indian paramilitary forces, resulting in the deaths of 40 Indian soldiers. In the Balakot strike, Indian Air Force Mirage 2000 fighter jets dropped bombs on the terrorist camp, destroying it.
